Torrential rain for a second day battered Lahore, leading to at least four fatalities and fifteen injuries as a result of two separate incidents of roof and wall collapses.
rain continues to batter Lahore: In the city’s Amar Sidhu neighbourhood, a house’s roof fell owing to heavy rain, killing four individuals, including three children under the age of 10, according to a statement from Rescue 1122.
A 10-year-old child, who was injured, was taken to the Lahore General Hospital.
In a second incident, a wall of the Government Mozang Teaching Hospital, adjacent to another building, collapsed, causing injuries to 14 more individuals.
Interim Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that they brought the injured individuals to Ganga Ram Hospital and described their condition as critical.
He claimed that they had sent certain ministers to the divisional headquarters, while assigning others to oversee specific divisions.
In the provincial capital on the Wednesday, record-breaking monsoon rains led to urban floods. Naqvi claimed that water ponds have formed on the roads in Lahore as a result of urban flooding and a record-breaking 272 mm of rain in only nine hours.
The downpour is responsible for causing at least six other fatalities.
