Shan Masood has been selected Pakistan’s vice-captain for the ODI series against New Zealand.

Shan Masood will serve as Pakistan’s vice-captain for the three-game One-Day International series against New Zealand, which will begin on January 9.

Babar Azam will be assisted by Shan in place of Shadab Khan. Shan returned to the national ODI team after a three-year sabbatical. Shadab Khan suffered an index finger injury last week.

Interim Chief Selector Shahid Afridi announced the 16-player team on Thursday. “We have opted to reinstate seasoned Haris Sohail and Shan Masood as we believe the two guys still have something to offer to Pakistan cricket,” Afridi added.

Masood is presently a member of the Pakistan Test team, which is currently playing New Zealand in the second test.
