At the Geneva International Conference on Climate Resilient Infrastructure, Pakistan raises more money than $10 billion, according to Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan’s prime minister, appealed for $8 billion in flood aid to assist Pakistan in rebuilding after the destruction. Following terrible floods that claimed 1,700 lives and inflicted $16 billion in damages, half of which Islamabad is financing, Pakistan needs international assistance.

On Tuesday, Bilawal tweeted, “Today, the world community responded to the prayers of 33 million flood victims in Pakistan. According to Bilawal, Pakistan raises more money than $9 billion in funding for a strong Pakistan reconstruction plan, surpassing our expectations.

The foreign affairs ministry congratulated Antonio Guterres for “being our advocate,” he said. The foreign minister shared tweets from the foreign affairs ministry that violated donor agreements.

The $350 billion economy received commitments totaling $8.57 billion in the first session and more than $2 billion in the second.

After devastating floods that claimed 1,700 lives and cost $16 billion in damages, of which Islamabad is financing half, Pakistan is in financial trouble.

The World Bank and Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) donated more than $6 billion for climate reconstruction in response to Pakistan’s $8 billion flood plea.

Pakistan will get $4.2 billion from the IsDB and $2 billion from the World Bank over the next three years. The United States, China, Saudi Arabia, and other countries have also expressed support.
