The eagerly anticipated program on YouTube that will let Shorts creators make money from ads is almost ready to launch on February 1.
Creators have until July 10 to follow and accept the terms of the Partner Program agreement that the firm issued.
The “Monetization Modules” that YouTube has released will give creators more control over their YouTube income. For creators to reach their full earning potential, the site advises embracing all modules.
Creators with at least 1,000 followers can apply for the Partner Program. This program is for video streaming platform (Shorts) creators who have generated over 10 million views on their videos in the past 90 days. The partner program was previously announced by the video streaming platform in a statement.
YouTube will be eliminating the $100 million creator fund. This fund will be replaced by revenue sharing on the Shorts platform. YouTube expects to see more revenue coming in through the revenue-sharing model, as opposed to the previous creator fund.
While watching Shorts on the Feed, users will see advertisements between each one. After each month, the money made from the advertising will be utilized to pay music licensing firms and creators through a shared pool.
Number of musical tracks that creators include in their Shorts will decide how much money is in the creator pool. If there is no music in a clip, the creator pool will receive all of the earnings.
Based on a creator’s percentage of all Shorts views, the streaming platform will decide how creator pool will be divided. This is to ensure that creators who drive the most engagement on the platform are rewarded accordingly.
Creators will receive 45% of the money after YouTube takes its part of 55%.
