GDA alleges PPP rigged election: The results of the local government elections were challenged by Sardar Abdul Raheem, the general secretary of the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) and the Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PMLF).
He claimed in his statement that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) continued its longstanding practice of election cheating in Sindh during the second round of local body elections. He claims that the PPP intimidated voters who supported the opposition to falsify the election results with the help of the police, the local government, and the Election Commission. Sardar Abdul Raheem alleged that these actions were carried out during the second round of local body elections in Sindh.
We denounce the rigging of the elections, said Sardar Abdul Raheem. Evidence of election rigging can be found in the fact that ballot boxes were taken the night before the vote.
Sardar Abdul Rahim, PPP MPA Taj Malah, and his armed guards reportedly raided voting places in Badin and tortured GDA agents and voters. He claims that the government and police failed to intervene in attacks on GDA voters in Matyari, Saeedabad, and other places by members of Zardari’s party.
