Waqar Younis claims he has no plans to lead Pakistan’s bowling squad

Waqar Younis, a former captain of Pakistan and renowned fast bowler, denied rumors that he was being rehired on Tuesday by stating that he had no intention of accepting the position of bowling coach for the Pakistan cricket team.

Waqar Younis also refuted claims that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had contacted him about the role in a tweet.

“There is a lot of talk about me being the Pakistani team’s bowling coach. Please understand that I have not been approached and do not intend to accept the position, Waqar tweeted.

In the past, there was much talk about Waqar being a candidate for the role of bowling coach. In the past, there was also much talk about Waqar being a candidate for a spot on the national selection committee. Waqar was considered for multiple positions in the cricket team.

The Najam Sethi-led PCB Management Committee has been looking for candidates for coaching and selection jobs.

The change happens after the current management fired the old setup. For the home series against New Zealand, a temporary selection committee was established, with former all-star cricketer Shahid Afridi serving as its chairman. Afridi, though, resigned shortly after the series, citing other obligations.

Saqlain Mushtaq, the head coach, and Shaun Tait, the bowling coach, were both let go after their contracts expired this month. Several support staff members were also let go after their contracts expired this month. All the staff were let go due to the expiration of their contracts.

However Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who serves as the cricket board’s Patron in Chief, fired former PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja. Significant changes in the team management were implemented. It was done under the supervision of Prime minister Shehbaz Sharif.
