India rejects dialogue offer: India has once more imposed a condition before resuming negotiations in response to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s desire to improve relations with India.
The spokeswoman for the Indian foreign ministry said on Thursday that talks with Pakistan must take place in a “conducive atmosphere free of terror.”
“In the words of Arindam Bagchi, a spokesman for the Indian foreign ministry, ‘We have always wished for normal neighbourly relations with Pakistan’.” “He added that India’s approach towards Pakistan has been consistent and clear and that it seeks to resolve all outstanding issues through peaceful and bilateral dialogue.” “Bagchi also emphasized that Pakistan should take effective and credible action against terrorist groups operating on its territory.”
To address the pressing concerns with New Delhi, particularly Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had stated four days earlier that he sought “serious and sincere conversations” with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi (IIOJK).
Let’s sit down and have real, true dialogues to address our pressing issues, including Kashmir, the premier said.
“Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and a former prime minister, blasted the current leader in a tweet from the previous day, accusing him of having no understanding of the motivations behind our founding fathers’ struggles and sacrifices to realize the dream of Pakistan and being prepared to put an end to the Kashmiri freedom struggle in order to win the support of the Indian lobby, in which more than 100,000 Kashmiris have lost their lives.”
