Shoaib Akhtar, a former Pakistani bowler also known as the “Rawalpindi Express,” on Saturday distanced himself from the movie biopic with the same name that is currently in production.
On social media, Akhtar declared his breakup with the biopic’s producers, citing a breach of the contract. I regret to inform you all that, after giving the matter significant thought for several months, I have chosen to sever ties with the producers of the movie “Rawalpindi Express” and have done so by terminating the contract with the help of my management and legal counsel.
The renowned cricketer also forewarned the movie’s producers that if they persisted in making the movie, he would resort to legal action.
“Severe legal action will be taken if the makers continue to make biography film[s] and use my name or life story events in any way,” he mentioned.
Umair Jaswal, a well-known musician and actor from Pakistan who was slated to play “Shoaib Akhtar” in the biopic, withdrew from the endeavour earlier this month.

On January 5, 2023, he also announced on the microblogging website that he has “chosen to break away from the Shoaib Akhtar biographical project RAWALPINDI EXPRESS owing to artistic and personal reasons.” I shall no longer be connected to any news or media outlets covering this initiative. I wish success to everyone engaged.
The former Pakistani fast bowler acknowledged on July 25, 2022, that his life was the subject of the film “Rawalpindi Express.”
The former cricket player shared a motion poster for the movie on his now-deleted official Instagram and Twitter accounts.
He stated on Instagram that the movie was in the process of being made and would include some never-before-seen details from his life.
In his post, Akhtar noted that Q Film Production is the production company and Faraz Qaiser is directing the film. This is the first worldwide film on a Pakistani cricket player, according to Akhtar.
However the movie on the world’s fastest bowler was slated for release in November of this year.
