Suryakumar Yadav, an Indian batsman, has been selected as the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year for 2022.
The other three nominees in the category were Mohammad Pakistan’s Rizwan, England’s Sam Curran, and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza. They were defeated by Suryakumar Yadav as he won the prestigious prize. The prize was Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year award.
In a media release on Wednesday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that the winner of the Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year award. He had one of the best years of any player in the history of the sport. The ICC made the announcement on Wednesday.
The No. 1 T20I batter had an outstanding year at the plate, shattering various records in the formal. He became only the second batter after Rizwan to score more than 1000 T20I runs in a calendar year.
The right-handed batter amassed 1164 runs last year at an astounding strike rate of 187.43. He is recognised for his unconventional swings and amazing ability to hit every part of the ground.
“During the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, Yadav was at his astounding best, scoring three fifties in six innings and averaging over 60. Notably, his strike rate was once again quite high at 189.68,” according to the ICC’s press statement.
