2nd FIR filed against Sheikh Rashid: An additional charge has been brought up against Sheikh Rashid, a former interior minister, for interfering with official business at a Murree police station.

“On Thursday, authorities took the former minister into custody from the Murree Motorway (February 2).” Imran Khan, a former prime minister, voiced his dissatisfaction with the arrest.

In response to the complaint, Ashiq Ali, an investigation officer from the Aabpara police station in Islamabad, filed the first information report (FIR). “The FIR reported that Sheikh Rashid threatened the police officers and declared he would not spare them.”

“The FIR, submitted in accordance with Section 154 of the Pakistani Criminal Procedure Code, charged Sheikh Rashid with interfering with official business and engaging in combat after detention.” The former minister allegedly threatened the police officers with severe repercussions while berating them verbally and physically and holding a gun to their heads.

The case includes the former minister as well as his two employees.

According to the FIR, Sheikh Rashid exited from his house with his armed servants when the police arrived and threatened them. “The FIR charged Sheikh Rashid with three offenses under the Pakistan Penal Code: 505 (statements encouraging public mischief), 153A (promoting hatred between different communities), and 120B.” (criminal conspiracy).

Then, while threatening them with a gun, he started to obstruct and interfere with the police’s work.

Sheikh Rashid allegedly threatened to kill the police officers and verbally assaulted them while claiming to have served as a minister on multiple occasions, according to the FIR. He violated Sections 353 (use of force or violence against a public official to prevent him from doing his duties), 506ii (threats to cause death or grave bodily damage), and 186 as a result (obstructing a public servant from performing his duties).
