The public showing of the Indian film Pathaan illegal screenings were stopped by the Sindh Board of Film Censor.
The SBFC conducted its investigation to identify the social media pages selling tickets for private screenings of the movie in response to a report that appeared on these pages on February 1 about unlawful screenings of the film at several locations in the Defence Housing Authority.
Only movies with their certification are permitted for public or private screening, claims the SBFC. “A film may not be made or arranged for a public or private cinematograph display unless the Board has duly certified the film for public showing.”
“The board requested immediate cancellation of Firework Events’ performances. Penalties for violating regulations include up to three years in prison and fines of Rs100,000. Firework Events is responsible for the screenings.”
Fireworks Events cancelled all of its Pathaan private screenings as a result of the warning.
