Pervez Khattak, a senior member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), recently resigned as the leader of the party’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter and is now considering joining Jahangir Tareen’s Istehkam-e-Pakistan party.
Pervez Khattak likely joins Tareen’s Party: Khattak was in contact with Jahangir Tareen, according to sources with knowledge of the development, and may join him and his companions in the upcoming days.
According to sources, Pervez Khattak would probably take over as general secretary of the Istehkam-e Pakistan party.
Previous reports indicated that Khattak would initiate his political party, and there is anticipation that PTI defectors will join the new political setup.
Jahangir Tareen, a seasoned politician, formally introduced the “Istihkam-e-Pakistan” party yesterday. Several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) defectors, including Imran Ismail, a former governor of Sindh, Amir Kiani, Sardar Tanveer Illyas, Mahmood Molvi, Firdous Ashiq Awan, Ali Zaidi, Fayyaz ul Hasan Chauhan, Fawad Chaudhary, and Nauman Langrhial, attended the news conference.
Jahangir Tareen stated: “We all have one purpose, which is to work for the development of Pakistan” when announcing the new political party “Istihkam-e-Pakistan.”
Jahangir Tareen claimed that the PTI had put a lot of effort into bringing about reforms in Pakistan, but sadly, they had fallen short of their agenda, leaving the public unhappy.
Additionally, he continued that if the organizers and mastermind of the May 9 riots are not punished, it will be detrimental to the nation. The violence on May 9 has affected politics throughout the nation.
However, Jahangir Tareen emphasized the requirement for strong leadership to overcome social divisions and unite in the face of the current economic and political crises.
