Ali Muhammad Khan, the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, was released from the May 9 violence case on Friday by an anti-terrorism court in Mardan.

Ali Muhammad acquitted in May 9 case: Ali Muhammad Khan was brought before ATC Judge Syed Ubaidullah Shah after being rearrested by the Mardan police on Thursday.

To represent the PTI leader in court, Nadeem Shah’s attorney came. After hearing the arguments, the judge dismissed Ali Muhammad Khan from the case and ordered his freedom if he was not required in any other cases.

Ali Muhammad Khan, a former state minister, was initially detained in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and Peshawar before being sent to Mardan.

Before this, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) ruled that the former PTI MNA retained after the May 9 attack on military sites should be freed.

Events on May 9

After Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, and the former prime minister were taken into custody on Tuesday at the Islamabad High Court (IHC), violent confrontations broke out throughout Pakistan.

Due to the party workers’ agitation over the detention of their chairman, rallies were held in both remote and crowded places, with Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad calling in the armed forces to maintain peace and order.

During a demonstration by PTI activists, army installations and the house of the corps commander in Lahore came under attack.

Additionally, it was stated that Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Ali Nasir Rizvi suffered serious injuries while clearing.
