KARACHI: After Murtaza Wahab, the leader of the Pakistan People’s Party, took the oath of office as mayor of Karachi, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the party chairman, declared that the PPP would address the claims of vote fraud via performance.

According to Bilawal, the PPP would respond to those making accusations of vote fraud through its actions. He asserted that the PPP had consistently won elections, but this time the opposition’s strategies had failed.

According to Bilawal, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) five-year performance will be his responsibility. The majority of Karachi’s challenges, according to the PPP chairman, are related to the federal and provincial administrations, and the party would work with the federal government to develop Karachi.

Like the provincial administration, he advised the LG government to operate through public-private partnerships.

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) was tasked by Bilawal to cooperate with political parties. Furthermore, He claimed that with the aid of those who stormed Jinnah House, attempts to conquer Karachi failed.

He declared that the PPP would release its general election platform. He demanded that the federal government help with flood victims’ recovery.

Saif-ur-Rehman, the departing administrator of Karachi, today presented Mayor Murtaza Wahab with a symbolic key to the city.

Additionally, On June 15, amid tight security, the municipal council chose Murtaza Wahab and Salman Murad from the People’s Party. Further, The election took place at the Karachi Arts Council. Notably, Wahab received 173 votes to become mayor of Karachi, while Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, candidate for JI, received 160 votes.

34 members of the municipal council were unable to make it to the voting location, according to the entry register, while 332 elected members did.
