Budget Highlights: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Balochistan Unveil Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Budgets
KP’s budget presented today: The budget for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s fiscal year 2023–2024 will be unveiled today. There have been suggestions for quick fixes to boost the province’s income.
A budget of Rs 1 billion has been set aside for the BRT subsidy programme.
On the other hand, Punjab adopted a budget with a surplus of Rs336 billion. The proposal to increase government employees’ compensation by 30% was approved. Additionally, approval was given for a 20 percent increase in the pensions of retirees who are over 80 years old.
The budget for the upcoming fiscal year in Balochistan has been unveiled, bringing significant changes for government employees. Employees in grades 1 through 16 can rejoice as they will receive a notable 35 percent pay rise. This increase aims to improve their financial well-being and acknowledge their contributions and dedication to their work.
Similarly, officers in grades 17 and higher will benefit from a 30 percent pay increase, acknowledging their higher responsibilities and positions. Additionally, the minimum pay for workers has been set at Rs. 32,000, aiming to establish a fair and reasonable baseline for their compensation.
