Federal Government Announces Five-Day Holidays for Eid ul Adha in Karachi
holidays for Eidul Adha 2023: KARACHI – The federal government announced five holidays for Eid ul Adha not long after the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee reported seeing the Zil Hajj moon on Monday.
The Cabinet Division has announced the closure of all government offices from Tuesday, June 27, to Saturday, July 1, 2023.
Earlier on Monday, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee gathered in Karachi to observe the sighting of the Zil Hajj moon. The committee’s chairman, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, presided over the meeting as they diligently searched for the crescent moon, signaling the beginning of the Islamic month of Zil Hajj.
However, This important gathering of religious scholars and experts aims to determine the exact date for the commencement of the annual Hajj pilgrimage and other associated religious events. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee plays a crucial role in establishing the Islamic calendar and ensuring uniformity in religious observances throughout the country.
In the meantime, Eidul Adha vacations will start in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates from 9 Zul Hijjah to 12 Zul Hijjah, or from Tuesday, June 27, to Friday, June 30, with Saturday and Sunday included as weekend holidays. Additionally, those who take the Monday before the Eid holidays off will enjoy a full week off.
