KARACHI: The establishment of an industrial facility in Sindh for the production of electric vehicles has attracted interest from the Chinese company “China Power.”
Sindh Get New Electric Bus: A team from a corporation expressed interest in meeting with Sindh Minister for Information and Transport Sharjeel Memon during a meeting that took place in Karachi on Wednesday.
Sharjeel Memon expressed appreciation for the company’s interest and pledged that the provincial government will help investors and businesspeople in the province fully.
Last year, another Chinese company pledged to establish Pakistan’s first intra-city bus manufacturing company in Karachi, thereby enabling the sale of buses at a lower price. Memon, during a meeting with the bus company’s country manager, announced that they had decided to construct a manufacturing facility on an 18-acre site within the next 20 months. The facility would have the capacity to produce 500 buses annually.
Our first objective is to establish a manufacturing facility for public transit, so we wanted to start the project as soon as possible, Memon stated.
Later, Sharjeel Memon said via his Twitter account that he had a thorough discussion with a renowned Chinese bus manufacturer and that they had decided to establish Pakistan’s first intra-city bus manufacturing facility in Karachi.
