In honour of the festival of Eid ul Adha, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that it will close on June 29 and 30.

State Bank of Pakistan Announces Eid Holiday: The declaration suggests a cascading effect on all domestic commercial banks, resulting in their shutdown for four days, from Thursday through Sunday.

The three-day holiday honouring Eid ul Adha had been authorised by the federal government.

However, The Prime Minister has approved the public holidays for Eid-ul-Azha as follows: Offices that observe five days of work per week will have holidays on June 29 to 30, 2023 (Thursday and Friday), and offices that observe six days per week will have holidays on June 29 to July 1, 2023 (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday).

Additionally, It was certified by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee that Pakistan has witnessed the Zil Hajj moon on Monday. Furthermore, This observation led to the conclusion that June 29 will be the national Eid ul Adha holiday.

However, After hearing reports of moon sightings from many cities, including Karachi and Lahore, the committee, led by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, made their conclusion.
