No major decision made in Dubai meeting: According to reports, the two parties agreed on matters including the caretaker system and the power-sharing scheme for the upcoming election.

Top politicians met to discuss the election date and other issues, including Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari. However, PPP leader Shazia Marri informed a local media outlet that they had not resolved any concrete issues. While the PPP has underlined the need of holding polls at the scheduled time, the PML-N has sent inconsistent messages regarding the election dates.

Shazia Marri, the federal minister for poverty eradication and social safety, also voiced her displeasure with the Chairman Senate (Salaries, Allowances, and Privileges) Bill 2023, claiming that it is unjustified in light of the nation’s economic difficulties. They have asked the legislators who voted in favour of the bill for clarification.

Marri stated that the PPP would strongly reject the bill in the National Assembly. She expressed that the bill had exceeded the “acceptable limits.”
