Madar-e-Millat Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah’s 45th death anniversary, is being marked with utmost respect and reverence.
Madar-e-Millat death anniversary: Numerous political organisations, educational institutions, and colleges organised special events to appropriately observe the day.
Fatima Jinnah, the younger sister of Pakistan’s founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah, was born on July 31, 1893. She was a dental surgeon, biographer, and prominent founding mother of the present state of Pakistan.
She had accompanied Muhammad Ali Jinnah as he actively participated in politics after receiving her dental degree from Kolkata University.
Jinnah established the Women’s Relief Committee in 1947, which eventually served as the foundation for the All Pakistan Women’s Association (APWA).
Additionally, After declaring her candidature for president in 1965, she took an active part in national politics, standing against Ayub Khan in the elections that year and travelling throughout West Pakistan and East Pakistan throughout the election campaign. Many experts believe that Ayub Khan and his son forcedfully rigged the election results, and she resigned defeat.
She kept working for the benefit of people through institutions and charities after her brother passed away.
However, She was also a key contributor to the Muhajirs’ relocation to the nascent Pakistani state.
On July 9, 1967, in Karachi, Fatima Jinnah passed away.
