Pakistan, China ready to sign academic cooperation agreement

Pakistan and China have decided to sign an agreement after receiving clearance from the federal cabinet to improve their collaboration in the education sector.

Pakistan China sign academic cooperation agreement: Sources indicate that the Grandview Institution (GVI), one of China’s most renowned independent think tanks, and the National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad will sign an agreement.

The agreement for academic cooperation with China has been approved for signing by the federal cabinet. The cabinet members circulated their approval of the military ministry’s report of the agreement for academic cooperation.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training both supported the deal. The Ministry of Law and Justice also gave its approval to the draught agreement.

Both nations will strengthen their collaboration in the fields of academia, research, and education as per the agreement.

In June, Pakistan’s Finance Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar, declared the country’s determination to strengthen bilateral ties with China, focusing on the economy, commerce, and financial sectors.

While speaking with Ms. Pang Chunxue, Charged Affairs, at the People’s Republic of China Embassy, the finance minister made these comments.

In a statement released by the finance ministry, Ishaq Dar expressed his admiration for the long-standing historical bilateral ties between Pakistan and China as well as for China’s steadfast support of Pakistan on numerous fronts.

The finance minister also gave the Charge de Affairs an update on the status of the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) following the conclusion of the ninth review.

He also informed her of the fact that, despite challenging economic conditions, the various economic sectors had responded favourably to the Budget 2023–24 proposed by the incumbent government.
