Azam Khan, a former senior secretary to the PTI chairman and the previous prime minister, asserted on Wednesday that the former PM exploited a US cypher for his “political gains” and to stave off a motion of no-confidence against him.
PTI chairman created cypher drama: While waging a campaign that implied a plot was behind his departure, the former prime minister received a tremendous amount of public support. He presented a “threat letter,” a diplomatic code, in his speech on March 27 of last year. A few days later, they used a vote of no confidence to overthrow his government.
Khan, who had been “missing” since last month, unexpectedly showed up in front of the action and made shocking discoveries regarding the US cypher while giving a magistrate his testimony as required by CrPC 164.
In his admission, the former bureaucrat said that he was “euphoric” when he gave the ex-premier the cypher and described the wording as a “US blunder” at the time.
According to Azam, the former minister allegedly stated that they might use the cable to “create a narrative against the establishment and opposition” at that point.
