According to AFP, military intelligence in Kyiv carried out a “special operation,” resulting in the strike against Moscow, as reported by a Ukrainian defense source.

Following a Russian missile strike on the city of Odesa a day earlier, Kiev pledged to react, and in response, an attack occurred on Moscow, which is approximately 500 kilometers (310 miles) from Ukraine.

The attack in the Black Sea city, which is under UNESCO protection, killed two people and damaged a historic cathedral.
