Misbah-ul-Haq appointed advisor to PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf

Misbah-ul-Haq, a former captain of Pakistan, recently assumed a new advisory position with Zaka Ashraf, who is currently in charge of the management committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). “His extensive knowledge of cricket affairs, especially at home, positions Misbah as an invaluable asset.”

Misbah-ul-Haq appointed advisor PCB chairman: Despite being an honorific position with no financial benefits, the new title gives Misbah the ability to use his skills to advance Pakistani cricket. He received the choice to accept a full-time position on the board, but he chose to stick to his previous commitments.

After speaking with Ashraf, Misbah agreed to offer the board his assistance and wisdom in making decisions that would benefit domestic cricket. His prior work in the industry gives him a distinctive viewpoint that makes it possible for him to offer crucial guidance.

Notably, the PCB has not yet spoken with Misbah about his potential return to the national team as coach or chief selector. “His schedule was already jam-packe with commitments to various leagues and broadcast networks, which made it difficult for him to join the squad right away.”

“I will give it some thought if PCB contacts me. However, it would be difficult for me to immediately begin working with the Pakistan team given my current commitments to leagues and TV networks. I’ll need to consider the post that is being given and whether I can fulfil it,” said Misbah.

The team’s previous time with Misbah was noteworthy. He was in charge of both team selection and coaching in September 2019. Pakistan’s disastrous World Cup campaign under Mickey Arthur, in which they failed to advance past the quarterfinals, preceded this.
