A police complaint has named an Indian father and his wife for allegedly selling their child to purchase an iPhone.
couple sells child to buy iPhone: Residents of Barrackpore, West Bengal, Jaydev Ghosh and Sathi sought a high-end phone to record videos for social media. They sold their eight-month-old baby to a woman to raise the money.
After discovering an iPhone in the couple’s hands, the couple’s neighbours became suspicious and called the authorities.
The mother, Sathi, and the buyer of the child were both taken into custody by the police after they acted quickly. The child’s father hasn’t been detained yet, though.
The infant was also discovered by the police with Priyanka Ghosh, a resident of the same neighbourhood.
Sathi admitted to the crime during police questioning. She claimed that she and her husband had intended to use the money to travel the state. Their plan was also to create Instagram reels with the money they stole.
Allegedly, the couple hatched a sinister plan to sell their seven-year-old daughter, but fate intervened, thwarting their wicked scheme. Thankfully, the young girl was spared from a tragic destiny, and authorities took action to ensure her safety and well-being.
