The joint investigation team (JIT) looking into the Jinnah House attack has once again called in the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for questioning in Lahore.
JIT summons PTI chairman again: On August 4, the PTI chairman has been requested to appear before the JIT. In every case mentioned, including one reported to the Sarwar Road police station, the JIT has called the PTI leader to appear.
The JIT has now called the PTI chairman four times. According to accounts, he has only once appeared before the JIT.
Several PTI leaders and employees allegedly attacked the Jinnah House on May 9 after entering the area to voice their opposition to the party chairman Imran Khan’s imprisonment.
In the Jinnah House attack case, 50% of suspects, including the main accused, are still at large, according to police records.
In the cases relating to the Jinnah House attack during the May 9 riots, law enforcement agents have not yet apprehended 50% of suspects, including the main accused.
Lahore police statistics show that they apprehended just 151 individuals who committed devastation inside the Jinnah House, compared to only 425 of the 1400 suspects who caused mayhem outside the structure.
The records indicate that the authorities identified 915 individuals who participated in rallies outside the Jinnah House, but they have yet to identify 185 people who committed mischief inside the facility.
