Pakistan Turkey launch naval ship in Karachi: According to news, the Pakistan Navy is undertaking the MILGEM project, which started in 2018, to build four corvettes. The project includes constructing two corvettes in Pakistan and two in Turkiye.

A small warship is called a corvette. The smallest class of ships usually considered to constitute a legitimate (or “rated”) warship. The sloop-of-war was historically the class of vessel below the corvette, and the frigate is the warship class above it.

The Prime Minister had previously been present at the Istanbul launch of the third Naval Corvette, PNS Khyber, in November of the previous year.

Additionally, In August 2021 and May 2022, respectively, Istanbul and Karachi launched the first two Corvettes, PNS Babur and PNS Badar.

Further, An enduring image of Pakistan and Turkey’s cooperation in the maritime sector is the MILGEM project.

However, It is a concrete step in the direction of independence and indigenization and will meet the Pakistan Navy’s pressing security requirements.
