Haya Al Shalahi, a Kuwaiti lawyer, stated that authorities could sentence individuals accused of this offense to up to two years in jail and impose a fine of up to 2,000 Kuwaiti dinars.
However, the judiciary may impose a sentence of up to two years in prison and a fine of 100,000 Saudi Riyals on those found guilty of this offense.
A cybercrime expert in Saudi Arabia asserts that the country’s law considers sending red hearts to any girl on WhatsApp as harassment.
Al Moataz Kutbi, a member of the Saudi Anti-Fraud Association, has pointed out that using “certain images and expressions during online conversations may transform into a harassment crime if the aggrieved party files a lawsuit.”
However, For repeated offenses, the punishment for such infractions could escalate to a substantial fine of 300,000 Saudi Riyals, and the penalty may extend to up to five years in prison.
