The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has backed Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif in deciding on the name of the caretaker premier.
Shehbaz gets PDM backing name caretaker PM: The affiliated parties in the Centre made the agreement during a conference call held to discuss the caretaker arrangement.
PM Shehbaz Sharif, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Maulana Fazlur Rehman of the PDM, Akhtar Mengal, and other federal ministers were present at the virtual meeting.
According to sources, Shehbaz Sharif has been given the authority to nominate the caretaker prime minister by the allied parties. They said that the prime minister might propose any qualified candidate for the position.
The ruling coalition requested a consultation from PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif regarding the opposition leader’s suggested candidates for the position.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s announcement that the National Assembly (NA) would be dissolve on August 9 was follow by the meeting held just one day later.
At a goodbye luncheon for lawmakers, PM Shehbaz stated that he would consult the coalition parties and the leader of the opposition before finalizing the name of the interim prime minister.
He announced the constitution of a committee to oversee the caretaker administration, stating that the government’s term would end on August 12. They are currently undertaking consultations with Nawaz Sharif, and they will consult with Raja Riaz, the leader of the opposition, once the name is finalize.
However, According to the leadership’s decision and after consultation, PM Shehbaz stated that his party may seek seat adjustments with coalition parties in a few of the constituencies.
