The state news agency (SPA), Saudi Arabia will conduct an Islamic conference in Makkah with 150 religious figures and muftis from 85 nations to encourage moderation.
Saudi host international Islamic conference: King Salman of Saudi Arabia gave his blessing to the meeting, which is scheduled for August 13–14.
Through seven panel discussions, participants will examine issues related to extremism and terrorism as well as encourage tolerance and intercultural harmony.
SPA reports that the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance is organizing a two-day conference with the goal of connecting scholars and religious organizations from around the world. The conference aims to emphasize their role in promoting Muslim unity, countering extremist ideologies, and mitigating violence.
Grand Mufti: Makkah conference conveys a message of peace
Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia and head of the Senior Scholars Council, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah Al-Asheikh, congratulated the Kingdom’s leadership for approving the next Islamic conference, which would take place in Makkah from August 13–14.
The Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance is organizing a conference titled “Communication with the Departments of Religious Affairs, Ifta, and Sheikhdoms in the World,” which will be attend by 150 experts, including muftis and leaders of Islamic organizations and sheikhdoms.
The Saudi government’s approval for the meeting, according to the grand mufti, is evidence of the country’s concern for Muslims around the world and its desire to propagate the peaceful teachings of Islam.
He emphasised the significance of scholars’ roles in elucidating the message of Islam in accordance with the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah and stressed that holding this conference in Makkah during a time of conflicts and hatred is evidence of Saudi Arabia’s message of tolerance, moderation, coexistence, and its rejection of hatred and violence.
Furthermore, Al-Asheikh expressed his appreciation for the conference’s goals and themes, saying they will build Muslim unity, reject extremism, and allow scholars and muftis to share their perspectives and experiences.
He also applauded the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance for its efforts to improve relations between religious affairs offices in different nations, which will show in the development of Islamic communities.
