Samsam Bukhari, a former Punjab minister, stated on Tuesday that he was leaving the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after denouncing the violence on May 9, according to ARY News.

Samsam Bukhari quit PTI: After meeting with Jahangir Khan Tareen, the leader of the Istekham-e-Pakistan Party, in Lahore, Samsam Bukhari made this declaration. Senior party figures like Aun Chaudhry, Noman Langrial, and others also attended the meeting.

It’s probable that the former provincial minister will join IPP soon.

In his statement, Bukhari added that, like every patriotic Pakistani, he deplored the violence on May 9 that had been sparked by the former prime minister’s arrest in the Al-Qadir Trust case.

He also emphasised the importance of working together for the benefit of the nation.

Earlier, Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Interior, published an allegedly hacked audio recording of PTI leader Samsam Bukhari discussing the events on May 9.

Samsam Bukhari allegedly stated in the recording that Ata Tarar informed that the PTI core committee has resolved to protest the Army.

Murad Saeed, Shehryar Afridi, Yasmin Rashid, Shafqat Mahmood, and others were present at the conference.

“In the purportedly leaked recording, Shafqat Mahmood questioned, ‘Why should we protest against our institutions?’ The leaders claimed that the ‘boss’ had instructed them to march towards Corps Commander’s House.”
