The pacer made the statement via a tweet from his official account, thanking everyone for giving him the chance to represent his nation abroad.


The email included an official statement that confirmed his immediate release from international obligations. This allowed him to fully focus on his new franchise cricket endeavor.

“I have been open about my plans to retire from international cricket in 2023, and I feel more confident than ever that I have served my country and National team to the best of my ability,” stated Wahab.

“Representing Pakistan on the world stage has been a privilege and an honour. As I say goodbye to this chapter, I’m excited to start a new journey in franchise cricket, where I hope to inspire and amuse spectators while facing off against some of the best players in the world,” he continued.

Additionally, In his international career, the left-arm pacer took part in 36 T20 Internationals, 91 ODIs, and 27 Tests.
