The Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination instructed Zaka Ashraf to resign from his position as Chairman of the Management Committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday, citing his “political appointment.”
Ministry writes to PM for Zaka Ashraf’s removal: The Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination, in a letter directed to Anwaarul Haq Kakar, Principal Secretary to the interim Prime Minister (PM), asks for the removal of Zaka Ashraf from her position as Chairman of the PCB Management Committee.
The letter indicated that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had issued a notice which stated: “To ensure the immediate termination of services of all heads of institutions appointed on a political basis and to refer all such cases to the commission for approval of termination or otherwise.”
The government requested the resignation of Peer Syed Ahmed Nawaz Shah from his position as head of the Federal Land Commission.
On July 6, it’s noteworthy that Zaka Ashraf, supported by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), assumed leadership of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee.
However, The PCB headquarters in Lahore had scheduled the chairman election for June 27. Nevertheless, various courts across the country, including the Balochistan High Court, issued stay orders, leading to the postponement of the election.
