In Budapest, Hungary, on Sunday, Pakistan’s top javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem took home a silver medal from the World Athletics Championship.

Arshad Nadeem wins Silver Medal: In his third attempt, Nadeem recorded his best throw of 87.82 metres, winning the medal.

Neeraj Chopra of India won the gold medal with a best throw of 88.17 metres. With an 86.67m throw, Czech athlete Jakub Vadlejch took third place behind Arshad.

Arshad got off to a slow start, only managing to throw 74.80 metres, but the Pakistani came back strong with a second throw of 82.81 metres.

However, Arshad’s third throw, which was his best throw of the season at 87.82 metres, was the biggest breakthrough.

Arshad’s fourth try, which was far shorter than he had anticipated, could only reach 87.12m.

While Arshad’s fifth try fell short of the 80-meter barrier, he was able to recover and throw an 81.86-meter distance in his final and final attempt.

As Pakistan’s first-ever medal in the World Athletics Championship, Arshad made history.

With his best throw of 86.79m earlier on Saturday (August 25), Arshad earned a spot in the World Athletics Championship final.

Additionally, Nadeem placed fifth in the World Championship held in the US the previous year. Soon later, he set a new record for the quadrennial event at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham with a throw of 90.18 metres, which is also his best throw.

He then had surgery on his left knee and elbow in London, had some time to recover, and then made a comeback in May at the 34th National Games in Quetta.

Despite not demonstrating his fitness there, he nevertheless managed to win a gold for his department’s WAPDA. He had a severe setback in this competition when he hurt his right knee, which later let him miss the current Asian Championship in Bangkok.
