An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad released Iman Mazari, a human rights attorney, post-arrest in a case related to “interference in state affairs.”

Imaan Mazari gets bail: In a sedition case relating to the contentious speech against the state institutions, the ATC Judge Abu Al-Hasanat Zul-Qarnain presided over the hearing and granted bail to human rights attorney Iman Mazari against surety bonds of Rs30,000.

The court read aloud the text of Iman Mazari’s address from a rally, which was a major point of contention in the case, during the hearings.

Contrarily, the prosecution contested this, underscoring that they had yet to receive the USB (Universal Serial Bus) report for the speech and emphasizing the requirement for a forensic examination of the speech.

As the investigation continues, there is considerable attention surrounding this case, with expectations for further developments.

An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad remanded Imaan Mazari, a human rights attorney, to Adiala Jail on judicial remand. This action followed the court’s dismissal of a plea to prolong her physical confinement.

Mazari, a human rights attorney and the daughter of former federal minister Shireen Mazari, was the subject of an ATC hearing regarding meddling in state affairs.

Imaan Mazari was brought before the court by the police. The prosecutor informed the court that they tested the accused using photogrammetry and voice matching. He continued, “We anticipate recovering the transcripts of her written speeches.”

Later, the court denied the accused lawyer’s request for an extension of her physical remand and instead placed her on judicial remand, transporting her to the Adiala Jail.
