News claim that the IMF understood the government’s position over the relief and requested a documented plan for relief from the power bills.
Ministry sources added that they will deliver a written relief plan to the IMF this evening.
The interim federal cabinet made the decision to ask the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for approval before reducing power consumers’ electricity costs.
In a statement, acting federal minister of information and broadcasting Murtaza Solangi claimed acting finance minister Shamshad Akhtar was enlisting the IMF to help the electricity users.
He acknowledged that the interim finance minister is in communication with the IMF. He proceeded to mention that the caretaker administration instilled confidence in the IMF to make certain judgments.
After bringing the IMF on board, Solangi stated that the caretaker government would make a decision regarding the electricity costs shortly after.
Further, People in Pakistan are protesting against the excessive electricity prices and pleading with the government to provide assistance.
However, The demonstrating crowds demanded that the government stop giving its officials, employees of electrical providers, and Wapda free electricity.
