ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Iran decided to expand their bilateral cooperation in a number of different sectors on Wednesday.
Pakistan and Iran agree cooperation: During a meeting in Islamabad, the recently appointed Iranian ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri-Moghaddam, and the acting minister for planning, development, and special initiatives, Sami Saeed, made the agreement.
The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, bilateral commerce, and cooperation in the economic and energy sectors were all topics of discussion at the meeting between the two sides.
The planning minister stressed the value of Pakistan and Iran’s long-standing friendship and reaffirmed his commitment to further advancing bilateral ties.
Sami Saeed praised the already-established border markets between Pakistan and Iran and urged looking into more areas of shared interest. The minister also suggested developing a system to allow for more seamless trade transactions.
Acknowledging Pakistan’s requirement for energy security, the Iranian ambassador extended his country’s support in the energy sector. This offer reflects a cooperative approach to addressing Pakistan’s energy needs.
Both parties emphasised the importance of improving connectivity and trade between the two countries and shared a desire to increase the volume of bilateral trade.
