After the Lahore High Court (LHC) discharged him in the Asset Beyond Means case, law enforcement officers re-arrested Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, the former Chief Minister of Punjab, from Zahoor Elahi Road in Lahore.
Pervaiz Elahi re-arrested: The capital police in Lahore’s Zahoor Elahi Road took the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief into custody under the Punjab Maintenance of Public Order Act, and they will transport him by helicopter to Islamabad, according to the reports.
They brought the former Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, before the Lahore High Court (LHC) earlier in the day. Justice Amjad Rafiq presided over the hearing and ordered Elahi’s release in the Assets Beyond Means case.
The National Accountability agency (NAB) arrested Elahi because he failed to provide the accountability agency with information regarding a case involving assets beyond means that implicated him, his son Monis Elahi, and other family members.
According to NAB sources, Moonis Elahi is also the subject of an investigation into the case involving disproportionate assets.
A team from NAB Lahore took former Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi from Adiala Jail to appear before the session court in Rawalpindi for transit remand.
