The first season of Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia didn’t go quite as planned.
Ronaldo first player score 850 goals: Although the 38-year-old scored a lot of goals, he was unable to win a title while playing for Al-Nassr, which was rare for the illustrious Portuguese star.
But this season has had a distinctive atmosphere from the beginning.
Al-Nassr won the Arab Club Champions Cup after outlasting Al-Hilal in extra time and qualified for the 2023–2024 AFC Champions League with an incredible comeback victory in the playoff round.
In all cases, Ronaldo was crucial, particularly in the Cup final when he scored twice.
Despite losing their first two Saudi Pro League games, the club has significantly improved over the last three matchdays, with Ronaldo taking centre stage.
In Al-Nassr’s 5-1 victory over Al-Hazem on Saturday, Ronaldo scored once more and provided assists on two other goals.
Ronaldo has now officially scored 850 goals in his career, making him the first player in the history of the sport to accomplish this feat.
He has scored six goals in the last three games, and during those same three games, he has also given four assists. He now leads the league in both goals scored and assists received.
Al-Nassr can dare to imagine winning even more trophies with Ronaldo in top form. Only four points separate them from first place in the league right now.
What Al-Nassr did to Al-Hazm
As previously reported by Sports Brief, Ronaldo also helped Al Nassr win their third straight game in the Saudi Pro League with two assists.
In the 33rd minute, the 38-year-old was crucial in assisting Abdulrahman Ghareeb in scoring the game’s first goal. Just before halftime, Abdullah Al-Khaibari added to Al Nassr’s advantage with an outstanding volley from a corner kick.
Soon after the break, Muhammed Badamosi restored Al-Hazm’s lead with a goal, but Ronaldo provided another assist in the 57th minute as Al Nassr reclaimed a two-goal lead to win 3-1. Otavio skillfully finished Al Nassr’s third goal to complete an outstanding team play.
