The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Asim Munir, is in Uzbekistan for a two-day official visit to advance bilateral defence cooperation with the nation.

COAS reaches Uzbekistan for official visit: The military’s media wing issued a brief statement today stating, “COAS Asim Munir is on a two-day official visit to Uzbekistan for enhancing military to military cooperation and defence collaboration.”

The army chief met with Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the president of Uzbekistan, the defence minister, and the chairman and secretary of the state security service during his visit.

The COAS placed a strong focus on the meetings’ need to improve intelligence sharing and mutual training collaboration.

He was impressed by the military forces of Uzbekistan’s level of readiness, training, and knowledge of regional security issues.

When COAS Munir arrived at the Ministry of Defence, a well-dressed contingent gave him a warm greeting and honoured him with a Guard of Honour. In Tashkent, he also placed a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial Complex.

A delegation from the Lahore Chambers of Commerce and Industries, led by its president Kashif Anwar, had spoken with COAS General Asim Munir the day before to address the economic situation in the nation.

COAS General Asim Munir gave the business community an assurance that money trades will be subject to taxation, according to Kashif Anwar, president of the Lahore Chambers of Commerce and Industries.

Anwar gave a detailed account of the topics covered during the meeting, stating that the COAS guaranteed openness in dollar exchange and interbank rates.

General Asim Munir emphasised the Special Investment Facilitation Council’s (SIFC) crucial significance during the conference, underlining how it has the ability to draw sizable investments of up to $100 billion from nations like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, and others.

Anwar added that COAS General Asim is confident Pakistan would emerge from the current financial crisis because the nation has the ability to recover.
