The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), Islamabad, placed former Punjab chief minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in judicial remand on Friday.

Pervaiz Elahi sent Adiala jail: Following a two-day physical remand in connection with the judicial complex attack case, they brought the PTI president before ATC judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain’s court.

The ATC court denied the police’s request for a further 10-day physical detention of the former chief minister of Punjab during the hearing.

The court denied the police’s request and placed PTI President Elahi on a 14-day judicial remand before sending him to Adiala jail.

On September 1, the police arrested the PTI leader a few hours after his release from NAB detention, despite the Lahore High Court (LHC) having prevented his earlier arrest that day.

On September 3, the CTD police station opened a case against Pervaiz Elahi.

According to the FIR, they accuse the former CM of providing vehicles and batons for the Judicial Complex vandalism and dispatching rioters to Islamabad to do so.

It’s important to note that Elahi has faced imprisonment and arrest on multiple occasions since the disturbances on May 9.
