The Lahore High Court (LHC) issued an arrest order for the Inspector General (IG) of the Islamabad police.
LHC issues arrest warrants IG Islamabad: According to records, the IG Islamabad issued the arrest warrants in a contempt case involving the detention of Pervaiz Elahi, a former chief minister and current president of the PTI.
The court issued a written arrest warrant for his failure to appear in court and scheduled his appearance before the LHC for September 18.
Before this, the Lahore High Court (LHC) had requested information from the Punjab police and Superintendent Jail regarding the re-arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Pervaiz Elahi.
During the hearing, the Chief Police Officer of Rawalpindi (CPO) requested an apology from the court, expressing, “We wish for the court to accept our apology.”
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended PTI President Pervaiz Elahi’s incarceration under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance just one day ago, necessitating his immediate release.
Nevertheless, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) promptly detained Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in connection with the attack on the judicial complex.
Pervaiz Elahi faced charges at the CTD police station on September 3, and he is schedule to appear before the ATC today (Wednesday).
