Actor Russell Brand accused of sexual assault by four women

Seven years ago, comedian and actor Russell Brand faced accusations of rape, sexual assault, and emotional abuse at the peak of his fame.

Russell Brand accused sexual assault: Channel 4’s Dispatches, the Sunday Times, and the Times collaborated on an investigation that brought forth these claims.

Between 2006 and 2013, four women have made sexual assault allegations.

In response, Brand maintained his relationships had “always been consensual” and refuted the accusations.

Brand presented for BBC Radio 2, Channel 4, and acted in Hollywood films throughout the years in question.

Other charges submitted as part of the probe centre on Brand’s allegedly predatory, aggressive, and domineering actions.

The research is available on the Sunday Times website, and Channel 4 will broadcast the Dispatches documentary Russell Brand – In Plain Sight at 21:00 BST.

According to Louisa Compton, head of news and current affairs for Channel 4, five women have allegedly submitted accusations against Brand as part of the probe. Of the five women, four make sexual assault claims.

  • One woman alleges that Brand raped her against a wall in his Los Angeles home. She was treated at a rape crisis centre on the same day. The Times says it has seen medical records to support this
  • A second woman alleges that Brand assaulted her when he was in his early 30s and she was 16 and still at school. She alleges he referred to her as “the child” during an emotionally abusive and controlling relationship
  • A third woman claims that Brand sexually assaulted her while she worked with him in Los Angeles, and that he threatened to take legal action if she told anyone else about her allegation
  • The fourth woman alleged being sexually assaulted by Brand and him being physically and emotionally abusive towards her

“Russell Brand Denies Serious Criminal Allegations Amidst Media Attacks”

Russell Brand released a video on Friday in which he denied the “serious criminal allegations” he claimed would be forthcoming against him.

The comedic actor claimed to have received letters from a newspaper and a TV network that had “a litany” of “aggressive attacks.”

In the film shared on YouTube and X, the platform that replaced Twitter, Brand stated, “Amidst this litany of stunning, somewhat baroque insults, there are some very serious claims that I unequivocally dispute.”

“These accusations relate to the time when I worked in the mainstream, when I frequently appeared in newspapers and movies, and when I was very, very promiscuous, as I’ve extensively discussed in my books.

The relationships I had during that period of promiscuity were 100% consensual.

Brand claimed he thought he was the target of a “coordinated attack” and that the situation was “very, very serious.” He was going to look into it.

However, For networks like Channel 4, MTV, Radio X, and the BBC, Brand has presented a number of radio and TV shows.

He got his big break when E4 hired him to host Big Brother’s Big Mouth a few years after he started his career as a stand-up comedian in the early 2000s.

Brand received Hollywood film roles in films including Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek, and Arthur once his fame rose.
