Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., a major Chinese e-commerce company, has informed President Tayyip Erdogan of Turkiye that it intends to invest $2 billion there.
Alibaba plans invest in Turkiye: According to a statement from Alibaba’s Turkish subsidiary, Michael Evans, the company’s president, made the remarks during a meeting with Erdogan.
“Timing of Investment Not Specified” Additionally, according to Evans, Alibaba has invested $1.4 billion in Turkiye through its subsidiary Trendyol, one of Turkiye’s most well-known e-commerce platforms.
Erdogan is in America to take part in the 78th UN General Assembly session.
Evans reportedly provided information about potential investments, including a data centre, a logistics hub, and an export operation centre at Istanbul Airport, according to Trendyol, whose president Caglayan Cetin also met with Erdogan.
