Following a diplomatic dispute over claims that New Delhi was complicit in the shooting of a Sikh separatist near Vancouver, India warned its citizens on Wednesday not to visit certain regions of Canada.

India Issues Canada Travel Warning: “Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has demanded that India takes the claims of Indian spies’ involvement in the June murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar near a Sikh temple with ‘utmost seriousness,’ and India has responded accordingly.”

In response, there were tit-for-tat diplomatic expulsions in the New Delhi and Ottawa. India rejected the claim as “absurd.”

The foreign ministry of India stated that because of “politically-condoned hate crimes and criminal violence” in the nation, it was concerned for the safety of its residents there.

Threats have specifically targeted Indian diplomats and Indians who resist the anti-India agenda, according to a ministry statement.

The statement continued by the urging Indian nationals to stay away from areas and possible locations in the Canada that have witnessed such events.

“The advisory advises Indian students, in particular, to exercise extreme caution and remain vigilant due to the deteriorating security environment in Canada.”
