The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has sealed the Lal Haveli, the residence of Sheikh Rasheed, the leader of the Awami Muslim League (AML) and a former interior minister, in Rawalpindi.
Lal Haveli sealed: According to reports, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), police officers, and members of the ETPB team arrived at Sheikh Rasheed’s home to seal it.
Asif Khan, deputy administrator for ETPB, oversaw the operation. Khan said that Sheikh Siddique and Sheikh Rasheed had ‘illegally’ occupied seven acres of Lal Haveli land. He asserted that Lal Haveli is ETPB’s property.
Sheikh Rasheed has, however, denounced the Evacuee Trust Property Board’s (ETPB) conduct and requested that the LHC take the situation seriously.
On January 26, the Evacuee Trust Properties Board (ETPB) planned a 24-hour evacuation of Lal Haveli, the home of Sheikh Rasheed, the leader of the Awami Muslim League (AML) and a former interior minister.
Before the partition, a Hindu woman owned Lal Haveli, but once Sheikh Rasheed entered parliamentary politics in 1980, he transformed it into his political office.
