PM Kakar, Chinese VP Zheng hold meeting on sidelines of UNGA

Anwarul Haq Kakar, the acting prime minister, and Mr. Han Zheng, the vice president of the People’s Republic of China, met today in New York on the fringes of the UNGA Summit.

PM Kakar Chinese VP Zheng meeting: The talk showcased the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, characterized by the customary warmth and goodwill it has become known for.

The two presidents discussed a wide range of bilateral issues, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and bilateral economic and financial cooperation, during their meeting.

PM Anwaarul Haq Kakar expressed his appreciation for China’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and socioeconomic development.

PM Kakar pointed out that China’s steadfast objection to holding any G20 meetings in the contentious territory of Jammu and Kashmir was a reflection of China’s principled stand in support of international law and UN resolutions.

Vice-President Han Zheng stated in his speech that the friendship between Pakistan and China is exceptional and has withstood the test of time because of the close ties that the two peoples share.

He continued by saying that as a close neighbour and “iron brother,” Pakistan holds a particular place in China’s neighbourhood diplomacy and that China would keep working to protect Pakistan’s fundamental interests as well as the country’s citizens’ economic growth and prosperity.

The two sides expressed their satisfaction with the steady advancement of CPEC projects in Pakistan, agreed on the significance of CPEC for Pakistan’s socioeconomic growth, and reaffirmed their firm commitment to continuing to cooperate in order to achieve its common goals.

The celebrations organised in both nations to honour the 10th anniversary of CPEC were also praised by the two leaders. Additionally, they decided to intensify their collaboration at multilateral fora.

PM Kakar and the Chinese Vice Premier concurred that Pakistan and China should keep up their high-level relations.

The Chinese vice-president gratefully accepted the premier’s invitation to visit Pakistan as soon as it was convenient for him to do so.
