The national airline of Azerbaijan announced that it would begin direct flight operations to Pakistan today.
Azerbaijan launches direct flight to Pakistan: According to sources familiar with the situation, AZAL, the national airline of Azerbaijan, has announced the start of direct flights to Pakistan. The first flight from Azerbaijan will land in Lahore at Allama Iqbal International Airport at 11:40 p.m. tonight.
On the maiden flight, 80 people will depart from Lahore while 15 passengers will fly from Baku to Lahore.
Lahore and Baku would be connected by air twice a week during the initial phase.
The inaugural flight, which is expected to land tonight, will be greeted by the interim aviation minister and the ambassador of Azerbaijan. The jet will also get a water salute when it touches down at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport.
For the convenience of travellers, the airline has also released a mobile application for purchasing tickets. In addition, customers can purchase tickets directly from the airline’s website.
