Interim Minister of Information Murtaza Solangi announced on Saturday that they would lower the price of gas in the next two weeks’ review as the Pakistani rupee surged against the US dollar.
Govt reducing petrol price: When speaking to the media at the Karachi Press Club, the minister remarked, “There are enough chances that the fuel prices will come down in the next announcement.”
According to Solangi, the caretaker government’s recent administrative actions have caused the rupee to appreciate by $30 to $35 against the dollar.
Regarding elections, he stated that the interim administration will play its proper part in assisting the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in ensuring that the nation has free, transparent, and fair elections.
The minister continued by stating that the government was taking numerous steps to help the economy of the nation, and that these actions had just begun to bear fruit in the form of a declining dollar price.
Further, After making grandiose promises to relieve the plight of the populace, the administration dramatically increased the price of fuel and diesel on 15 September.
The price of petrol has increased significantly, going from Rs26.2 to Rs331.38 a litre. Additionally, the price of diesel was increased by Rs17.34, making the new per-litre cost Rs329.18.
However, The caretaker government increased the cost of fuel and diesel by Rs. 58 and Rs. 56 per litre, respectively, within a month.
