Pakistan’s men’s squad received visas to attend the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India in 2023.
Pakistan team issued Indian visas: The change has occurred as a result of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) petition to the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding the hold-up with Indian visas.
IHC (Indian High Commission) updated PCB on the development. Visas and other paperwork will be delivered to the other party tomorrow by 11 a.m. (Pakistan Standard Time).
On Wednesday morning, the Pakistan cricket squad will depart for India and travel via Dubai to Hyderabad.
Recall that PCB had to postpone their pre-World Cup team-building trip to Dubai due to the delay in obtaining visas.
In a letter to ICC, the PCB expressed its worries and reminded the oversight body of the Host-Member agreement.
The letter said, “We have been talking about this issue for three years.” “Nobody gave our worries any thought. We still haven’t received our visas at this point due to the current state of affairs.
“Due to the ignorance of the relevant authorities, we are in a situation of uncertainty. Due to this visa difficulty, we had to postpone the trip even though we needed to stay in Dubai for two days.
“We were consistently promised that the visas will be provided in 24 hours whenever we called the relevant official.
“And now, as each day goes by, the uncertainty grows and worries everyone.”
The first practise match for Babar Azam and company is scheduled for 29 September in Hyderabad, and the second practise match against Australia is scheduled for 3 October at the same location.
The Men in Green will meet the Netherlands to open their World Cup campaign on October 6, and Sri Lanka on October 10 at the same location.
